In 2013, Sony launched the PlayStation 4, shortened to PS4, along with other new features in it. This was followed by the success of its succeeding versions and the release of their respective games. Afterward, console game devs surfaced and produced plenty of games like racing games for the market. The first release rivaled Nintendo's console due to its competitive features and prices. Under Sony Interactive Entertainment, Kutaragi developed the first PlayStation. This resulted in the appointment of Sony executive Ken Kutaragi as the head for PlayStation developments. The demand infuriated Sony’s President Norio Ohga. Nintendo chairman Hiroshi Yamauchi wanted complete control and ownership. According to some news, this issue was the result of profit-sharing and licensing disagreements of both parties. Although a day after the announcement of this feature, Nintendo denounced their partnership. The project aimed to develop a CD-ROM for the Super Famicon (also known as Super Nintendo Entertainment System). Did you know that the original plan for PlayStation was to be a Super Nintendo add-on?
